OCEANIC EXCELLENCE: VSG LABS AND PETRONAS CARIGALI ELEVATE UNDERWATER INSPECTION

We are thrilled to share exciting news from VSG Labs Sdn Bhd as we embark on an innovative journey that promises to revolutionize underwater inspection in collaboration with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Delivering Digital Twin Analysis for Mini ROVs: A Game-Changer in Underwater Inspection

Virtual performance estimates and testing of underwater vehicles, such as mini-ROVs and ROVs, play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency and mitigating unforeseen challenges during real-world deployment campaigns. At VSG Labs, we understand the significance of this, therefore we employ cutting-edge Model-Based Analysis (MBA) to enhance the functionality of Digital Twins in offshore and underwater settings.

Both Digital Twins and MBA involve the use of mathematical and physical models to simulate equipment behavior under varying environmental and operational conditions. This approach helps us gain valuable insights into system dynamics, including thruster power requirements, changes in the center of gravity due to added probes, and critical weather parameters.

Integrating Digital Twins with MBA unlocks vast potential for offshore and underwater inspection, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational optimization. These capabilities are essential for ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency, particularly in challenging and remote environments.

VSG Labs Delivering Service to PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd

We are delighted to announce that VSG Labs has secured a contract to deliver Digital Twin analysis for mini remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the evolution of underwater inspection technology.

Key Highlights:

1. Underwater Inspection Without Presence of Vessels and Human Divers:

PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd is committed to conducting underwater inspections for offshore structures using mini-ROVs and ROVs, eliminating the need for vessels and human divers in the process.

2. Performance Testing for Efficiency:

PCSB aims to conduct through performance tests for the proposed mini-ROVs and ROVs, both through simulation and physical testing, before deploying them for the offshore campaign scheduled for 2024. This proactive approach is designed to prevent non-productive time offshore in the event of equipment inefficiency.

3. Comprehensive Performance Test Goals:

The performance tests will encompass the following objectives:

a. Simulation of ROV maneuverability underwater with payloads, ensuring it can execute the required inspection scope within specified weather parameters.

b. Validation of simulation results against site testing, conducted either in a controlled environment or in the open sea with weather parameter measurements.

4. Timely Delivery:

VSG Labs is committed to delivering analysis for five ROVs within the first quarter of 2024, ensuring that PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd is well-prepared for its upcoming offshore operations.

As we move forward with this exciting partnership, we anticipate groundbreaking developments in underwater inspection technology that will benefit not only PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd but also the entire offshore and underwater industry.

Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable journey, and please feel free to reach out to us for any inquiries or further information. Together, we are charting a new course for the future of underwater inspection.
